Dead Can Dance

Went and saw Dead Can Dance at The Barbican this evening with eruditorum who came down from Glasgow especially for the gig.

So, what were they like?

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody amazing. They played for just over two hours and the set was wonderful. The Barbican also has one of the best sound systems I've come across and with Lisa Gerrards vocals combined with the haunting, melodic, music really showing its qualities. I've never seen DCD before but you can bet that if they ever tour again I'll be picking up tickets. Also bumped into forbinproject in the restaurant before the gig. I haven't seen him properly for years and years but he's looking very healthy at present and a lot slimmer thanhe used to be when i knew him at school.

Top gig :)

I hope they didn't use up all their energy and have some left for tonight.
madmoses saw them in Munich two weeks ago and was equally impressed.

I probably can't sleep now...

damn it, I want them to tour properly, rather than just one gig in the arse end of nowhere, so I can actualy see them.

If bands are just going to do the one UK show, they should at least play somewhere central, like Birmingham for instance...

They are actually playing two or three dates in London :p

They said it had been too long since they played so hopefully that's an indication that they're enjoying the current tour and might be back again.

Yes, that was my reaction too. It has to be one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

Knew more than know. I used to go to school with him and RPG'd with him for many years. I haven't really seen him on a regular (or irregular) basis since visiting him at Sussex Uni when he was there.

He looks a lot more like his father these days though and has lost a lot of weight compared to those hazey school days.

But yeah, the world is small. See you in an ever smaller part of it tomorrow!! :)

DCD
One of my all time favourite groups. Funnily enough, just this week transferred them to my MP3 player.

BYW Angus, people on uk.g.r. have been asking after you! (re: weekly new games list) - are you still doing it?

Re: DCD
Hi, sorry for the late reply :p

I've just sent this new releases over to the UK newsgroup. I also saw a previous post you made about Chaosium trying to find some old GW authors. I sent Charlie some info about this a couple of years ago but probably still have it on the computer. If you want to contact me offlist on angus @ cubicle7. freeserve. co.uk I'll dig it out and send it over your way. I still chat to Marc Gascoigne on an irregular basis and he helped get some of the info for me so I can always ask him again if needs be.

Best wishes, Angus
