No Dogs Allowed

We don't allow dogs in the shop (stems from a dog having an accident here years ago - I don't like cleaning up doggy mess!).

I just told a customer this who wanted to bring his dog in. He then informed me that it was a PUPPY and not a DOG.

I'm sorry but SAME BLOODY DIFFERENCE!!! And puppies are probably less likely to be house trained!!!

Was he carrying the puppy? If so that would have been OK cos it would have just pooed in his arms! LOL

No, the little yapping thing was on a lead. Served him right if he'd pooped in his arms though.

I have no problem with dogs in my place, it's the fecking children that annoy me...

Why, oh why do people think it's OK to bring their bored children to a major retail park during the school holidays? 'Oh, the kids are bored, let's take them shopping to Cheshire Oaks!' Aaaargh!

Better than that... we have games store with a cafe and gaming tables and parents actually DUMP their kids here for 5 hours when they go shopping with €2 and get surprised when they come back and the kids have wandered off.

I witnessed a very embarrassed manager having to politely eject a young woman from a clothes shop yesterday on suspicion of shoplifting. I'm so glad I'm outta retail!

Hmmm my two answers to this would be either
Polite: Point out a puppy is alse a dog and thus covered by the rule.
Non-Polite: Point out my no annoying idiots in the shop rule that he had just broken.
Which probably explains why I don't run a shop any more.

I did actually point out that a puppy is still a canine and as such fell under the No Dogs rule.

You could put up a sign saying "No dogs (canis familiaris)". Of course, you might end up with some clever git bringing in a wolf (canis lupus), so maybe you should just say "No canidae".

Eh.

That person just failed the essential intelligence test that I have for deciding whether I view the person as human or not.

So if you killed him, I understand...

As an aside. I love dogs. But I never bring them around to shops with me. I really cannot see the point. It just strikes me as ignorant tbh.
