(Film) Fantastic Four

OK, I'll admit I was wrong about the Fantastic Four. It surprised me and turned out to be a good fun film.

I was never a FF comic book fan (much more a X-Men, Avengers, Thor kinda reader) and I was expecting to put the film into the same category as The Hulk, Daredevil and Elektra (ie - a bit poo). But it was enjoyable, well acted (barring Dr Doom whom I thought was portrayed fairly weakly) and had some excellent special effects.

Even The Thing, whose make-up I was so critical about in the trailers and promo photos, fitted in the film without any real noticable detraction.

It reminded me, in some aspects, of the early Superman films. Not quite sure why, but that's what I'd compare it to if I had to. Anyway, I have to go and get something to eat so this will end up not being a review as such but a reccomendation.

School Report: B (Looking forward to the sequel)

(Downside of the cinema trip was that I saw a trailer for a film called 'Sky High' which is pretty much exactly the same as a project I've been working on. I *hate* it when that happens....grrr.....)

FF wasn't bad, plenty of ham in there, but you expect that in a superhero film, the problem was that the incredibles had already done it, and done it better :}
