Now this sounds good. Thanks to cavalorn for digging this one out. A new Robin Hood series scheduled for BBC 1 in the autumn 2006.

And the new Robin Hood looks kinda cool (Christ, with comments like this and the ones I made about Dave Gahan alongside the result of that Gay Test I'm really going to start worrying some people! :p)

Looking forward to it already.....

EDIT: Forgot the link ----  sorry.....have now linked the article through the pictures as I couldn't find the linky buttons when I went back to edit this. Don't ask me, I'm confused....just click one of the piccies above...

There is nothing wrong with the comments about DG. Godlike beings don't count, you're meant to worship them.

And occasionally drool. :)

Also, I suspect you weren't sitting on the tube after the gig trying to work out how old Dave's son is and whether he takes after his Dad. *That* was a disturbing moment...:)

Nothing wrong with admiring members of one's own gender, whether sexually or aesthetically.

You cannot beat Michael Praed !
But I'm bias so I'll adopt a wait and see approach to this one :)

9 million wasted
Oh rant time agian...

9 million wasted, because, so I'm told, there's no friar Tuck. Sorry but he is a critical figure in the stories - you can't just write him out because his a bit fat and comedic. Cool doesn't equal brooding seriousness people. This won't be Robin Hood as a result, it will be an unoriginal idea *based* on the Robin Hood myths. So don't call it Robin Hood. Tut.

Re: 9 million wasted
You heard right, no Triar.. I mean Friar Tuck kicking arse for the Lord.

But seriously, how many Robin Hood shows have actually stuck to the original story (assuming such exists)? Very few, and yet they didn't suffer for it (though some may have suffered for Mickie Praed's wicked mullet). Anything that has medieval shennanigans on it is great in my book.

Now... I wonder why he appears to have a recurved bow...

Very true Sir,

I've little doubt it will be perfectly watchable - and as long as those in the know can put aside the inevitable historical inaccuracies in costume and weaponry, etc, it will all be good swashbuckling fun.

Michael Praed
Firstly, please don't knock Michael Praed, that lovely, lovely man, he may not have been worthy of an Oscar but his flowing locks were enough to set my heart a flutter, together with the Green Man and that music. What a series.

Without Friar Tuck though, I'm a bit concerned. Alright, so he is comedic but he is also a strong, moral character who is the cook, etc. for the troops. Quite important, methinks. I seem to also remember he acts as a go between occasionally between Marion and Robin, doesn't he?

I'll be looking forward to the new series, however. The new Robin looks delicious! :)

P.S. I have a think about men with bows and arrows, I may have to reconsider Legolas' position as the top man...
