Evanescence's new album "The Open Door" arrived on my doormat this morning.

I was quite keen on hearing this one as I actually really enjoyed "Fallen" which had some incredible tracks on it.

Now I've only listened to Open Door twice so far (well, almost twice as I'm currently on Track 10 of my second spin) but it hasn't grabbed me anywhere as near as much as Fallen had. Admittedly I've been doing other things other than just "Listening" to the CD but none of the tracks have jumped out and grabbed me which is a disappointment.

Time will tell. Some albums are definetly growers but initial thoughts for this one aren't very good :(

Hopefully it'll grow on me.

I'm waiting for the opportunity to crank it and listen - I picked it up yesterday, but didn't get the chance for a straight through, undisturbed listen, as I like to have with albums I've not listened to before.

I like Evanescence for their music. I couldn't really care less what their religion is in real life. The first album has very strong overtones of other bands that I like (or have liked in the past) and whilst not as heavy as bands such as Lacuna Coil, Nightwish and Within Temptation they certainly share some traits. They also remind me of an old early 90's goth band called Die Laughing in places too :p

If God amushed you and took you off to the pub who am I to complain :p Hope you had a great evening and :::hugs:::
