OK. I didn't think I'd really ever say this about a Eurovision track. But WOW - I LOVE THE BULGARIAN ENTRY! Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Lordi last year but the song wasn't ever going to get in my personal Top 100. This song though, called Voda by Elitsa Todorova, is really really good. I love the drumming and atmospheric vocals. I would love this song to win but I don't suppose it will. I think we'll have a return to Europap this year (possibly courtesy of Switzerland God Help Us!).

Anyway, here's the Bulgarian Entry. Let's hope it flies high!

That's actually really quite good.

Even if not everyone's copying Lordi, they at least gave the sign that plastic disco-pop is not an automatic route to success. They've inspired countries to experiment.

Very nice; a sort of a blend of dead can dance and euphoria; the video is a bit cheesy though!

Best one I've heard so far however!

She is quite good, and have some songs which are much better, almost "goth" in a pop way. She is quite big in the Balkans and when I was living in Serbia they used to play a couple of her songs in Goth/Alternative clubs...

I have a couple CDs here somewhere, I'll burn them and drop you a copy...

That would be great, thank you. I'd be very keen on hearing more of her material.

Pedantic note: The correct spelling is Elica (the sound is Elitsa)

Does she know that? 'Cos her website is http://www.elitsatodorova.com/ ...

But then it's a transliteration issue from the cyrillic script used in Bulgaria I s'pose.

Otherwise I have to say "WOW!"

That's a huge problem in most countries which use only Cirillic, the only place they know how to transliterate properly is in Serbia, as there they had to know how to write in both alphabets due to it being part of Yugoslavia and Croatia having the same language but another alphabet. Her name for example should use the Slavonic letter C (tse) and not tse spelt... anyway, I agree totally on the WOW...
