Sisters of Mercy Tour

2009 April 08 Leeds United Kingdom Academy

2009 April 09 London United Kingdom Forum

Will post other European dates later when I'm home but thought a few people may be interested in the above.

A large part of me wants to see them again because they are 'The Sisters' but the last gig of theres from a couple of years ago (or so) is still pretty fresh in my memory... on the plus side they couldn't be any worse now than they were then can they? Plus at their height they were one of the best live bands I'd seen.

I just hope they actually put some effort in and Eldritch 'sings' insteads of getting the sound engineers to muffle his voice... grrr....

Guess I'll see how much the tickets will cost.

EDIT: London tickets are £22.00 plus booking fee.

Last Sisters' gig I went to, couldn't see a thing (too much smoke) and couldn't hear a thing (poor sound). The whole experience could be summed up as a pair of sunglasses on stage mumbling.

The Smurphs put on a much more entertaining show.

Should get The Sisters of Murphy to play on the same date (obviously different venue) then you'd get a much better set, with much better sound and a more pleasing performance all round.

Would love to see them back in London again. They were superb supporting The Mission last year!

Y'see it tickles my nostalgia bones.

Fortunately I will be out of the country, and so will be able to resist.

I feel exactly like you - I've defended the sisters for as long as I've been able to but after last London gig (Astoria 2006 I think) even I had to admit it was quite poor... more than the fact his voice is no longer what it used to be what got me was the fact they didnt seem to give a shit about the whole thing, it was a 'you paid, here's your 75 mins of gig now piss off' kinda feeling.

Still, I'll probably be there...

Never get sentimental about an ego-tist. The gig will feature Eldritch mumbling and playing tracks nobody is interested in hearing. He will then finish off the first half by delivering a crap version of First Last and Always. He will then return to the stage and deliver more songs nobody has heard of or are interested in hearing. He will then sign Temple of Love and fuck off. For that you will have to pay a shed load.

Why not go and see Wayne Hussey play at the end of January and hear a proper gig instead.

I'm interested to know whether they'll play in Belgium or not (I should go look that up) as I'm quite tempted to go see them again :)
Last times I saw them they were pretty awesome :)
