(Movie Trailer) Franklyn

Anyone know anything about this one? I just saw an ad for it and followed through to the trailer and it's intrigued me (in a weird steampunky way).

Woss gave it a really bad review last night because of its incomprehensible plot and bad directing among other things. It looks very stylish indeed (like a new Dark City) and I want it to be good. I'll probably still watch it when it comes out.

Wasn't sure whether that was about psychosis or actual parallel worlds. Looks funky though.

I'm waiting to see what comes out of Proyas' latest work - Knowing. Hopefully it'll continue his run of good visuals.

Hm, that looks dangerously like another National Treasure clone but could be good.

I have a lot of faith in Proyas. I Robot was far better than I ever thought it would be.

That trailer looks a lot better than the TV one that I saw. The one I saw didn't have much modern stuff in it at all but still made me think of 'Don't Rest Your Head' this one even more so. May have to go and see it, although Woss has often been on my wavelength with reviews (well a few years ago anyway)

i saw the trailer too today - seems to be getting around. It definitely looks interesting! there's a great shot of the guy in the gothic world on the other side of the wall from the girl in our world

I've been keeping an eye on this since it came up on the Steampunk forums. Looks worth seeing even if it isn't very good! :-)

I posted this on facebook, after reading Kim Newmans review there. He was intrigued by it. Not sure what Kermode thinks... but those are the two best reviewers to listen to for honest opinions about films... along with the Independent newspaper. Never trust the idiots at the Guardian or Time Out for film reviews.
