The World of Sparkles

If Twilight had pre-dated Vampire: The Masquerade we'd have had The World of Sparkles. In the LARP version everyone could cover themselves in glitter...it would have been so much fun!

Well, the Malkavian Madness Network does have something of a penchant for pranks...

Glitter and glue grenades?

As I recall most of the girls used to cover themselves in glitter anyway either to mark their man, find out who he had been messing around with or letting another girl know she had been messing around with the other's boyfriend. Of course I never got involved with that stuff... never ever ever

I'm seriously considering making a cop-out Halloween costume by just wearing normal clothes and covering myself in glitter.

Then why didn't the fact that Anne Rice's vampires glitter under florescent light do the same thing?

Did they? I don;t remember that? Do you have an example as that could blow Mr Peregrine's arguements completely out of the water :)

They did. Or at least glow, or something otherwise prism-y. I'll try to find it over the weekend.

But I'm still solidly in the "vampires don't glitter in daylight - they burn" camp. Twilight vamps are fairies. As in Fey, Good Folk, what-have -you. I can make an equally stong case for that, with historic folk references, to back it up.

This I can see.....after all we call them nice names so they won't bother us and all fits.

Glow slightly under florescent light but burn like a barbeque in sunlight is a lot different to sparkling!!!!

Also Anne Rice's books (well, the first one at least) are well written and detail solid characters along with complexity, conlict and a consideration on the nature of God and the human condition.
Even if Louis and Lestat sparkled they'd still be much better!

Absolutly!!!!

I think if Edward and the rest had been fey, an alien race or even earth bound angels I'd have gone with the sparkling. But as vampires? Oceans of No.

While a slight sheen, or even a preternatural glow is perfectly acceptable, in my opinion glittering vampires are vulgar!

..and I thought it would have been 'The World of Squee'... The World of Sparkles sounds kinda fun in a 'My Little Pony' sort of way.

Twilight is way more My Little Pony than it is Squee, so yeah, quite appropriate :)
