Daybreakers is a very cool looking new vampire flick coming out in 2010.
Vampire dominate the earth and Humanity has been hunted to the brink of extinction - which brings it's own problems for the Vampires as it also means there food is about to run out...
Great cast too. Realy looking forward to this one.
I saw this at the cinema this afternoon. Fantastic film.
The original Chinese film is in two parts (the Western release is both edited into one film - and is an hour or so shorter at only 2 hours 28 mins). I'm going to have to get the Chinese release on dvd when it's available. The Western release is still very, very good though.
Red Cliff
...and I saw the trailer for this whilst I was there.
Can't wait :)
Blood, The Last Vampire
I'm currently reading 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy. The writing style took some getting used to - and I almost abandoned it fairly early on because of the unconventional style. I'm glad I didn't though as it's proving to be a very enjoyable - and gripping - book.
There's a film adaptation coming out this autumn starring Viggo Mortensen. Here's the trailer...

Another film adaptation of a classic novel coming out is Where The Wild Things Are. Now this is a classic childrens story in the States, but I'm not sure how well known it is over here in the UK (I'm sure I'll be told shortly though :p).
Where The Wild Things Are
Anyone know anything about this one? I just saw an ad for it and followed through to the trailer and it's intrigued me (in a weird steampunky way).
The Japanese Trailer for Watchmen has a bunch of new footage in it not seen in the Anglo-American trailers yet.
Here it is....
Here it is....
I was talking about this film with someone a few weeks ago but somehow forgot it was coming out until
_tonylee_ posted the trailer for it today.
I've always liked mixing genres and playing with alternative histories so a film set in the Viking Era when an alien spaceship crashes is obviously right up my street :D

Overall I enjoy the new Star Trek Trailer (and this is from someone who DOESN'T LIKE STAR TREK - but I've been hearing from other Trek-neutrals and anti-Trekkers that the new Trek film also has them intersted so I think it is going to be absolutely massive when it's released).
But one thing has been bothering me about it. Simon Pegg as Scotty I thought was a great idea but OMG his accent sucks. His accent in this trailer (and hopefully he'll be better in the overall film) reminded me overwhelmingly of another comedy character - Pippin from Lord of the Rings. Scotty sounds like Pippin.
Listen for yourself...

Generally speaking the trailer looks fab though.- Music:Blaqk Audio
Two trailers for you before I head back into work...
The Watchmen (Trailer 2)
Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince
The Underworld franchise is returning to the screens in early 2009 with a look back at the past. The story of the Lycan Uprising is explored - which we'd been told about in previous films. No Kate Beckinsale - her character hasn't been born as of that time - but Bill Nighey returns as Viktor and Michael Sheen as Lucian - the werewolf who falls in love with the vampire Sonja (played by Rhona Mitra) who is Viktor's daughter.
Change also at Director level with Patrick Tatopoulos taking over the reins from Len Wiseman. Patrick is much better known as a special effects guy and has previously worked on a host of films such as Silent Hill, I Am Legend, the earlier Underworld films, Pitch Black, Stargate, 10000 BC to name but a few. So the film should look stunning.
So, if you are up for some dark ages vampire vs werewolf action then I guess you'll be as eager as me to see this film on the big screen when it's released :)

Ok, so maybe I didn't go to bed straight away. Maybe I did check my friends page quickly - and I'm glad I did as I saw the trailer for Repo! The Genetic Opera - which I'd heard about but hadn't paid any attention to.
Before now.
Now I'm interested.
Glad to see Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy) back in a singing role after his stint in the Rocky Horror Musical - plus Alexa Vega, Sarah Brightman and (and I hate to admit this) Paris Hilton all look pretty hot :p
Anyway, here's the trailer... 2008's Rocky Horror anyone?

Oh yeah, before I forget, I managed to sneak off work early and catch Hellboy 2 - a treat for Natasha's birthday - and also Babylon A.D. Hellboy 2 had some very nice bits but overall i think I preferred the first installment. Babylon A.D. had some nice ideas/scenic shots of a ravaged Earth near future but overall wasn't a great film and the ending sucked.
But the reason why I mention these is because I caught the trailer for Max Payne. Now I don;t know *anything* about the computer game (I even had to ask someone to check it *was* a computer game) but the trailer has made me really want to see it. I've no idea what the bird creatures are in it but they look very cool.
So, for my final post of the day, I feel it's only fair to share and give you guys and girls a look at the trailer too... Hope you enjoy it!

The Watchmen Trailer
And Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog can be FOUND HERE and Acts 1 and 2 HERE, Act 3 goes live tomorrow (Saturday 19th July) and then they all get taken down late on Sunday (20th July) so watch them (or download them in itunes) quick! - but that's not enough for you. Here's the Teaser Trailer too...I have a theory about the third act which I've shared with Sean and Dave at work. I'll be waiting the upload of Act 3 tomorrow to see if I'm right :)
God, this looks brilliant.
We watched the trailer to start with and the other guys didn't know what it was for and, quite understandably, initially thought it was a trailer for an Elric movie.

I don't care what anyone says about the Resident Evil films - I loved them (even if the second was iffy in places) and can't wait for the third installment to hit the cinemas (US Release in September).
Las Vegas meets Mad Max anyone?

Just a few trailers...
Alpha Dog (I actually checked this out on the strength that Bruce Willis is in it and there was also a rther sexy picture of Justin Timerblake on one of the sites I read about it as Justin's also in the fim. Don't let that deter you though as it looks like it should be quite a good thriller/drama)
Nacho Libre (Wasn't so sure of this one as it's the new film from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess, and I wasn't a fan of ND to put it kindly. Saying that though it is starring Jack Black and was written by the same person behind School of Rock. These persuaded me to give the trailer ago. Still not convinced but one I'd certainly like to see a bit more of before I decide one way or another...)
Marie Antoinette (Sofia Coppola's new film. Now I loved both The Virgin Suidcides and Lost In Translation a lot so any film that Sofia brings out will get my attention. In this period drama Kirsten Dunst plays Marie Antoinette. The film looks visually very good - especially the brief clip of the ship battle - so I guess it'll be a safe bet for Autumn)
Silent Hill (I may very well have mentioned this one before, but I'll do it again. Silent Hill looks fantastic. Could this be the first time a film based upon a video really REALLY works well on the big screen? With Christophe Gans Directing - he of Brotehrhood of the Wolf Fame - and a good cast - including Sean Bean - and absolutely fantastic special effects I really can't wait to see this....)
Slither (On a slightly less serious horror note we have Slither... It looks very much in the same vein as films such as The Blob and Eight Legged Frekas - just a bit more adult orientated in places - but added to that it also stars Nathan Fillion of Firefly/Serenity fame)
Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro continues his love affair with fantasy-horror (Hellboy, Blasde II, The Devil's Backbone, etc) with this outting. Only the Teasers are out for it so far but, and I see to be saying this a fair bit at the moment, it looks very nice...)
Superman Returns (...but did he really ever go away....It'll be interesting to see what Bryan Singer does with the Man of Steel)
X-Men 3: The Last Stand (With a new Director (Bryan Singer left to do the Superman film) it'll be interesting to see if the X-Men momento keeps up. The film does look like it should be good though with the all-star cast returning once again and also joined by new team-mates Angel and The Beast!)
Day Watch (The sequel to Night Watch was released in Russia at the beginning of this year. Hopefully it'll be out over here before the beginning of next...)
The Proposition (Written by no other than Nick Cave, this gritty film stars the very talented Guy Pearce and an equally talented cast including Ray Winstone, Liam Neeson, John Hurt and Emily Watson)
