Mozilla Firefox Question

Hi gang,

Today I have a question for any of you techies out there. I've been using the (rather excellent) Mozilla Firefox browser since the new version was launched. I do agree that it's a lot better than Internet Explorer and heartily reccomend it to people.

"However" I am having a problem with it. It seems to wipe out my 'bookmarked' pages every month. It happened a few weeks ago and its just happened again this morning. Now whilst I can still open up Internet Explorer and re-import the lot into Firefox this is getting both annoying and also means that any newly bookmarked pages I've created in Firefox are lost.

So techies, any idea why this is happening? Do you know how I can keep my bookmarked pages in Forefox for longer than a measly month?

Please let me know.

Thanks, Angus

what version of firefox / mozilla are you currenlty using, I'll have a quick shufty at the the bug reports and see it's a recognised issue

Firstly, you should know they're working on it.
It's actually happened to quite a lot of people, so you're not alone. It's one of their critical bugs at present.

Secondly; do a search for bookmark.html and bookmarks.bak
These are your backups, hopefully they'll have everything you had in there.

I'd actually reccomend reinstalling Firefox - it's only a minority of people who've had the problem, a reinstall might get it right.
Another thing to check - do you have another install of Mozilla anywhere on your computer? They could be writing to the wrong directory.

I use Opera it's fast stable and has everyting I need. I does all the stuff Firefox dose and it did it before.
