House of the Flying Daggers and Afternoon Drinking

I went and saw 'House of the Flying Daggers' this afternoon. For my first film outing of of the new year it was a great success. I loved the film and whilst it is no 'Crouching Tiger' it is beautifully shot and I enjoyed pretty much all aspects of the film. I liked the plot, the fight scenes were stunning and I liked the characters (especially as they were all flawed and none of them was the classic good guy). I'll certainly be picking it up on DVD and hope that the rest of the films I see in 2005 are at least nearly as good. School Report: B+

On my way home I bumped into Chris and Lara whom I hadn't seen for a few months and ended up in a watering hole with them for the rest of the afternoon. I felt a bit worse for wear after a number of double southern comfort and cokes on an empty stomach and eventually wandered home to dial-out for pizza, have a bath and now do this. Delphine is ringing back in about an hour as Alexandre and her have just got back from spending New Years in Brussels with friends so no doubt we'll end up chatting the rest of the evening away. Especially as a lot has happened in my life in the last seven days since I last spoke to her (flatmates moving out, ex getting new bloke, and other stuff that I've no intention on putting on LJ - at least for the time being).

2005 is going to be a year of big changes for little old me. Until then though I'm signing off to watch another episode of Firefly and wait for my phone to ring.

See ya' later folks!
