(News) Venezula/Colombia Row Deepens, US Gives up on WMD Search, Busted

Venezuela and Colombia's war of words is escalating with the Venezuelan President, Huge Chavez, promising serious consequences if it's found that Colombian security forces were responsible for the kidnapping of a FARC leader, Rodrigo Granda, within Venezula's borders. Colombia has now said that bounty hunters were used after denying claims for the last few weeks. Colombia Paid To Abduct Top Rebel (BBC News Online; Wednesday 12th January 2005)

I wonder how many millions of dollars were wasted on this one? Let alone to mention the destabilizing of a region, hundreds of thousands of civilian lives and casualties, and thousands of combatants lives? All for something that many people claimed never existed in the frist place and that the governments involved have since claimed were based on old and unreliable information. The spin behind all of this has cost the worlds stability and countless people there lives. How will we respond? Well America has already re-elected the main man responsible and no doubt the UK will follow suit later this year and re-elect our own murdering bastard. I sincerely hope both men, and their advisors, one day wake up with the full force of reality of their deeds on their conscience. I also truly hope that Britain brings Blair down this year but I think that's too much to ask for a lethargic and brainwashed population.
