Weekending
Friday:
The Dev = fun, saw a number of good friends
Sin City = pretty dull. Band was awful, not too many people there. Sister #3 was there though and it was good to see her out clubbing with some of her mates, also met up with the American girl (who is actually Dutch) we met at the FNG do last Wednesday and had a good natter. Rob also crashed at mine for a bit and Dave, Rob and myself chatted away until about 4am. Sasha still wasn't home and seems to have lost about three hours of accountability from Friday night :-p
Saturday:
9am meeting lasted until about 2pm. Included them buying me lunch and drinks. Meeting was good.
Saw the first half of the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Millwall but had arranged to meet the American/Dutch young lady. She came over about 4ish and time was then lost track of.
Sunday:
Yay for sunday pub roasts!!! Well needed munch at The Dignity with Sasha, Dave and Sarah. Followed by watching a bit of the excellent 'JAM' on DVD and then heading to The Dev (it seems to be beciming home from home) for drinks with the guys, Steve, Charlotte and co. Then a good Chinese, followed by more episodes of 'JAM'.
Now it's Monday and the second week of me being 32. So far 32 is proving to be a hell of a lot better than 31 generally was and my wish for more 'rock n roll', etc, seems to have been granted :-p
Clarification: Sore
I recently brought a new pair of 'New Rock' boots and have gradually been breaking them in. Unfortunately after going out clubbing in them on Friday and spending a fair amount of time in them over the rest of the weekend my feet are suffering. Or more specifically theback of my heels :-(
I even ended walking around at work in my socks earlier as my 'comfy, well-worn' (aka knackered) boots were even painful to wear.
What we do for fashion :-)
Virtual Church Mayhem, Dr Who, Spike Milligan, Witches on Big Brother and Hobbit Houses...
davywavy mentioned in his LJ recently about the 'Church of Fools', an on-line Christian church. Strangely enough I discovered it's existence last week when
purplekaz emailed the following story 'Virtual Devils Curse Internet Church' (Yahoo News; Wednesday May 19th, 2004).
Also, the new sidekick for Christopher Eccleston's Dr Who has been chosen. The choice wasn't a surprise as rumours have been floating around for a while it'll be her. Thanks to adders who alerted me to the confirmation though! Billie Piper Is Doctor Who Helper (BBC On-Line; Monday 24th May 2004).
Spike Milligan's family have finally won a dispute which allows the former comedian to have the words 'I told you I was ill' on his tombstone. Unfortunately they have to be written in gaelic though. Milligan Gets Last Laugh on Grave (BBC On-Line; Monday 24th May 2004)
Tolkien's house is up for sale in Oxford. I followed the link in the hope it was one of the actual Hobbit houses from the Lord of the Rings movies. Sadly no. Not that I have a the cash for it in anycase... Hobbit's Home on Sale for £1.5 Million (BBC On-Line; Monday 24th May 2004)
Oh, and apparently 'a witch' is one of the contestants for the new Big Brother series kicking off this weekend. Didn't watch the last one, doubt I'll watch this one....
