Old Friend

Meme Band-wagon jumping (again)....

Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Hmmm. Knowing some of the people on my friends list this one could prove tricky. I'm going to take a gambit and go for The Flight Commander 'A Room Full of This'. The Flight Commander wsa Simon Hinkler's band after he left The Mission.

Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Now I feel a lot more confident about this one. Whilst my book collection is probably as extensive as my CD collection (if not mroe so) less of my friends have extensive book collections. I'm going to choose 'Urban Future 21: A Global Agenda For Twenty-First Century Cities' which was published in 2000 by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housingin conjunction with E & FN Spon it covers the challenges of the urban explosion in the century to come. It's findings were presnted at the Conference Urban 21 in Berlin in July 2000 and the research was commissioned by the Worlds Commission on 21st-Centry Urbanization.

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/etc that no-one else on your friends list does:
Again this could be tricky. 'Hardware', which was a futuristic apolocayptic film featuring cameos from such talents as Iggy Pop, Lemmy and Carl McCoy. It was also my first introduction to the music Ministry (even if they played a GWAR performance to it!).

Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has:
Nevache. A small village on the French/Italian border in the Alps. Delphine's family maintain a retreat up there and it's a wonderful place. I've only been in the sumemr months for long walks and excursions over the border into unsuspecting Italy.

Europe Calling...

This morning I took Sarah to the bus station so she could catch the bus up to Standstead Airport and then board a plane taking her to Amsterdam for a week. Her brother is visting from the States so she's going over to see him and also catch up with her sister and Dad who live in Amsterdam. She's coming back next Sunday.

Meanwhile, I'm flying out to Germany on Wednesday morning from Heathrow. My passport is renewed and my ticket is brought. I'll be flying back on Saturday morning so should be back home by Saturday early afternoon. Essen is great fun (I go to the games convention there) although it is very hectic. Putting aside the fact that the show gets about 150,000 visitors over its four days, I'm usually on my feet from when it opens at 10am to when the doors close at 6pm - and I have a lot of ground that I need to cover as I'm only there for two days (I don't bother staying on the Saturday or Sunday because it gets so crowded I can't speak or place orders with anyone). The evenings are usually a rollercoaster of meals, bars and parties or clubs. You "can't" imagine the exhaustion :p

God, sometimes I love my job....

Trying not to think about waterfalls.....

The pain of only having one joint bathroom/toilet. I've unfortunately drank too much diet coke in the last hour and am in dire need of an excursion to the little boys room. Unfortunately someone is havign a bath and I'm now sitting cross legged trying to keep busy and my mind off it. Writing posts like this isn't helping either :p

Damn. Reminder to self - If you rent another house or ever buy somewhere try to remember to make sure it hass a seperate toilet or has two in the building.

Right, off to try and do something else :-p
