Well, her nipples WERE blue in the trailer even if they weren't in the final edit of the film :(
Wouldn't mind a girlfriend with blue hair as well whilst I'm at it.
Although the whole 'shooting things from your hands' might be a step
too far for me (especially if I'm the target) but then on a plus side
she does sleep with Gods..... so I may be in with a chance :D
WTF am I going on about? Just saw
Immortel Ad Vitam
with Dave and Sarah. General consensus was it was better than we
thought it'd be. It was actually pretty amazing in parts but in others
bad CGI certainly affected our viewing pleasure. They also seem to have
made a puppet out of one of the things that 'should' have had the CGI
treatment. Dave and myself are big Enki Bilal fans and have been for
years so seeing this film was a MUST as soon as we heard it was coming
out early last year. Unfortunately it never got a cinema release here
in the UK and I couldn't get to France to see it last Easter so I had
to wait until the DVD finally came out and Delphine was kind enough to
send it to me as a Christmas present.
Some of the cityscapes and scenes are absolutely stunning but, apart
from the rendering on a number of the actors, they have some pure CGI
characters in the film which could really have been played better by
humans as opposed to bad computer-game looking figures.
Going to have to sift through the extras on the DVD and see what else
is hidden away as the copy I have has 3 discs worth of material! I also
have to track down the soundtrack as it was cool and weird.
Overall I did enjoy the film, but part of that stems from my love of
Bilal's work, sci-fi/cyberpunk and all things French and weird. I'd
give it a B but someparts deserved an A whilst others deserved a D-.
