Terrorists come in all colours.....

Sorry for the sudden post but things like this piss me off......

Three brothers have been found guilty of passing money onto Hamas. They have yet to be sentenced but have attracted a media circus because of their faith. The reason why this pisses me off? Double-standards.

For years a number of Irish Americans have been fundraising and passing money onto the IRA (and still do) and nothing is done about it at all. Now regardless of my personal feelings on the Irish situation the fact remains that this is completely double standards.

When I was in Vegas a couple of years ago over St Patricks Day (the week the US and UK went to war in Iraq and the War Against Terror was already very much in its full swing) the hotel I was staying in had an IRA Fund Rasier going on! The people I spoke to saw the terrorism in Northern Ireland/UK to be a completely different matter than the terrorism brought on by a small group of Islamic fundamentalists.

I'm sorry, but if you start a war against terrorism you can't pick and choose the definition.

So, when are we going to start hearing of terrorist proceedings against those who are not Muslim?

Veritas: The new Nazi's????

Jesus! Just read the opening paragraph on the BBC News site about Kilroy-Silks new Veritas party and his statements. What on Earth happened to turn an old-school Labour MP into the new White Supremist movements saviour? What a f**kwit.

"Euro MP Robert Kilroy-Silk has launched his Veritas Party's manifesto with an attack on multi-culturalism imposed by "liberal fascists in London".

The idea that everybody should respect each others' cultures was "nonsense", he said, adding that not all cultures were equal - some were "reprehensible".

Talk about blinkered and racist.
Kilroy Attacks "Liberal Fascism" (BBC News OnLine; Thursday 14th April 2005)

I just hope that Veritas, BNP, UKIP and The Conservatives manage to dillute each others vote so much they hand seats to the LibDems and Labour. It'd be good to see The Conservatives go the way of the dinosaurs.

To be honest, some of Veritas' views are quite sound but are expressed in too much sensationalism. Take the above 'cultures' comment. One of the things they are mainly talking about is the cultures were 'honour killings' are common place, as are forced marriages and restrictions of freedoms and speech. Now I support the view that these should not be tolerated in the UK (or anywhere) but playing on the views and feelings of the rascists/paranoids/scared to win votes should not be a campaigning tactic (although it is in so many places...).

School Daze.....

Much more of the Rebel aspect of this test rather than a punk. Had punk friends but from the age of 12 I was into Rock/Metal and from 13/14 I was into Goth (as soon as I heard The Sisters and The Mission on Top of the Pops and the radio chart shows I knew that was the way forward for me :p)....

I had fun at school though (which always seems to amaze people) but then again we had quite a large alternative crowd at the place and certainly dominated the sixth form.

You scored as Punk/Rebel.

(Finchley) Lib Dem Help Anyone?

Hi folks,

I'm going to be wandering the streets of Finchley at points during the next week posting leaflets through letterboxes in the effort to disrupt the Conservative/Labour dominance of the last 85 years. If anyone fancies getting in some exercise and informing the people of Finchley about LibDem policies, etc, via their doormats please let me know.

I've also been asked if I'd like to do some door-to-door canvassing but at the moment I think I'm a bit too shy for that. Who knows though, I might get swept away by the whole thing....
