Old Friend

Cannibal Holocaust & Rammstein

Stuart (Louisa's boyfriend) brought me a copy of Cannibal Holocaust after we were discussing it the other night and I expressed my desire to get hold of a copy as Daver took his off to Scotland when he moved earlier this year.

Cannibal Holocaust is a fantastic film and had a profound impact on cinema in many ways (not least that it got almost universally banned). If it wasn't for CH there would never have been a Blair Witch Project. CH was originally filmed in the late 70's and was really before it's time in many aspects of the film and subject matter. I originally watched it with trepidation due to it's title (and the fact that we were watching it on the same night as Zombie Flesh Eaters and other not-so-good gore flicks). It surprises you though as it's not what you think it's going to be at all and is actually a very well thought out film which makes you realise just how biased YOU are by expecting it to be something different than it actually is. (I'm trying not to give anything away here as I think everyone should try and watch it).

Anyway, thank you Stuart!!! It's a double disc set with anotehr film called The House On The Edge Of The Park which I've never heard of.

I also received the new Rammstein CD today - "Rosenrot". Haven't listened to it yet but hoping to this evening whilst we're gaming. I'll let you know what I think when I finally do.

Right, off to get ready for the guys and gals. We're actually roleplaying tonight for the first time in ages. Star Wars d6 is on the menue. I've never been a BIG Star Wars fan but it should be fun anyway.

Catch ya all laterz!
