Torchwood - First Impressions

OK, so the first two episodes of Torchwood, the Doctor Who spin-off, have been aired on BBC3. Repeated on BBC on Wednesday.

I'm so glad I caught them tonight as it means I can try and get anyone who missed them to watch them on Wednesday and maybe even watch it again myself if I can spare the time.

Torchwood was very good. It was definitly a pleasent surprise to discover it was even better than I thought it would be (unlike the still lacklustre Robin Hood on BBC 1). I haven't been gripped by a new series so much since I first watched Firefly actually.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Doctor Who with Eccleston and Tennant but niether grabbed me with the 'wow' and 'chuckle' factor that Torchwood did this evening.

Episode One was a good introduction to the group and Episode 2 really had me laughing in places. Especially the way the security guard discovered the first murder :p

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series and John Barrowman and Eve Myles make a good centre pairing
