To Do....

House Hunting Blues

House hunting is not going well.

We had a 'glimmer' or a reprieve that might allow us to stay where we've been for the last four years but this morning that was 100% confirmed as not happening.

Dave and myself are looking at what sounds like a large 4 bedroom house in North Finchley this afternoon (actually in just under an hour) which I'm hoping will be 'the one'. Problem then is that Jade is also looking at hosue-shares and bedsits for herself as we were having so little luck with 3-4 bedroom places and she's viewing one that she really liked the sound of this afternoon too. So we may find a 4-bed that we like only to have one of us drop out! Even if all three of us do like it we still have to see if the proposed fourth person likes the house. Although I may have a back-up fourth person should Jade or the other girl drop out.

If todays set aren't appropriate then it looks like Jade will defintely go her seperate way and Dave and myself will be looking at 2-bed places whilst still keeping an eye out for 3-bed ones if we can find something sizeable for us both +1.

All this means continued uncertainty and disruption though - neither of which is good.

We have got an extension on our current place until March 13th though (considering out original contract expired today this is a good thing).

House Mates Wanted!

Ok, we've found a lovely 4-bedroom house that's just been completely refurbished, has a large garden and spacious rooms. Three toilets and two bathrooms, 2 reception rooms.

It's on the edge of Frien Barnet and North Finchley, has lots of buses running at the bottom of the road which means Arnos Grove (Piccadilly Line) is about 5 minutes away whilst Highgate & Finchley Central (Northern Line) are about 10-15 minutes away). Woodside Park (Northern Line) is probably about 25 minutes walk. New Southgate British Rail Station is also under 10 minutes away by bus with a regular service to Kings Cross or Moorgate depending on time of day.

The catch is that we are one person short to make this work. Jade has found a room in another house in North Finchley and is moving there in just over a week, so this just leaves Dave, myself and possibly Natasha (pending her approval of the place). All of us are pretty quiet people and have our own projects so if you're looking for a wild party house this is not for you. It's also a non-smoking house indoors so any smokers will have to pop outside for a cig (I'm a smoker and have never had any problems with this and am actually one of the people who doesn't like people smoking in my living space).

Rent will be about £500 which includes most bills - although if you earn a bit more than the others some extra towards bills would be nice as I'll be paying all surplus fees (Rent is £1950/month).

So if you fit the above profile and and like the sound of it please email me on angus @ cubicle7.co.uk or leave a comment and we'll have a chat, all meet up and arrange a final viewing of the place before it's grabbed by someone else. I also have a couple fo other people I'm chatting to about possible housemates off-LJ as time is pretty crucial of we want this place. It is a lovely large house in a very nice area.

Apoptygma Berzerk - Coma White / Haujobb - The Speed of Pain

I've just popped up Marilyn Manson's original version of 'Coma White' on radio_infinity but it remindered me of a great cover of the song by Apoptygma Berzerk that I heard on a Marilyn Manson Tribute album a few years ago. I remember bouncing around to this version quite a bit at the time :p

Anyway, whilst there is no video of the Apop version (no surprise there) someone has still popped it up on Youtube to listen to. Thus here it is...

Off the same album was Haujobb's brilliant version of 'The Speed of Pain' which I also apparently had to post up here :p
