Heroes Season 3: Villains

Ok, I *AM* going to bed now. But not before sharing the Season 3 Trailer for Heroes 'Villians'. Now I actually enjoyed Season 2 (I say this having just finished watching it on DVD in the last few days). It got a lot of criticism but I really liked it - even if it was unfortunately cut short due to the writers strike. Maybe I liked it because I'd heard a lot of negative commentary about it so wasn't expecting it to be so good. I don't know. All I know is that Heroes is still possibly my favourite show currently on TV and I'm looking forward to Season 3.

Talking of which, let me share with you the trailer... (If you haven't seen Saeson 2 yet it's probably advisable not to watch this yet...)

Roll on September 22nd (US Launch date). Anyone know how quickly it goes up on the NBC site after airing?

More LHC Humour

Still here? Oh well, I guess I now need to get my Accounts and VAT return done for the beginning of October afterall. Plus we get to see England try to avoid humiliation against Croatia this evening! When's the *actual* experiment start? I might still be able to avoid doing my accounts if it's in the not to distant future...

So, it's not all bad news :)

Also found GOOMI's Unspeakable Vault got into the LHC act...

As did xkcd...

England - Three Lions

Just seen the England score with about ten minutes to go. Wow. Really didn't think we'd be winning this one at all...let alone so comfortably. So glad that Walcott is finally getting played in the squad.

Off for food and then to check the final score. Fingers crossed they hold out (or even add another goal or two!).

EDIT: Heh. What do you know. As I was typing the above Walcott scored his hatrick. Currently 4-1 to England!

China Mieville's - Tales of New Crobuzon RPG

As any long term readers of my blog will know I'm an avid fan of China Mieville and especially his books set in Bas-Lag (the absolutely stunning 'Perdido Street Station', 'Iron Council' and 'The Scar').

I remember a number of years ago, when I first read Perdido Street Statiion, discussing trying to get the license from China to create a role-playing game set in the city of New Crobuzon and his world. Indeed corone  and myself spent the best part of an evening at B-Movie discussing it and I also had frequent conversations with _grimtales_  about it too. Anyway, to cut a long story short we didn't follow it up at the time and then earlier this year my good friend gmskarka  announced that his company, Adamant Entertainment, had secured the license to produce the Tales of New Crobuzon Role Playing Game.

Now anyone who has seen the front cover for the game (which is due for release in the autumn of 2009 - so still a way to go yet) will be dying to see the finished product. Unfortunately I can't find an image of the cover at present or I'd repost it for you guys to see. China Mieville is one of a handful of authous I'd absolutely love to see have RPGs based around his works (another being Jim Butcher and the Dresden Files series - which drivingblind has the rights to do with Evil Hat Productions and a third being someone I won't mention just yet).

Anyway, to stop me rambling and drooling any further I'm very pleased to announce that Adamant Entertainment made the following announcement this evening...

"...and looking a year ahead, Fall 2009 will see the release of Tales of New Crobuzon our role-playing game based on the works of China Mieville. We'll be partnering with Cubicle 7 Entertainment on this one, with Adamant handling development and design, and Cubicle 7 handing distribution to the hobby and book trade. Yes, I am beaming :)
