Coming to a cinema near you....

Just been chatting about the new Kojak TV series being made with Ving Rhames as Kojak on karohemd's LJ and I ende dup posting a list of other TV serials of old that are being given the silver screen treatment in the next year or two.

I thought I'd repost it here too as I'm sure a few of you may be interested/appalled.....

The A-Team (2006), Baywatch (2006), Dallas (2006), Flash Gordon (2006), Lassie (2006), Miami Vice (2006), The Munsters (2006), Aeon Flux (2005), Bewitched (2005),  Knight Rider (2005), Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), Highlander: The Source (2005), Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (2005), The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse (2005), Lost Girls (think 'Lost Boys' 2005), The Magic Roundabout (2005), The Pink Panther (2005), Six Million Dollar Man (2005)......

(Oh, btw - The Watchmen by Alan Moore is also now apparently a reality with Paul Greengrass directing (he of Bourne Supremacy fame) and is due to be released late 2005!).

Flash Gordon will never be as good as the original movie. Unless of course they can get Brian Bloody Blessed again.

Aeon I'm still dubious about. Charlize Theron is supposed to be playing Aeon and she just doesn't strike me as the right person. It jsut won't be right.

HHGTTG might be interesting though. Although I'm not so sure about For being a black guy, but I'll reserve judgement til I see it.

The trailers for Magic Roundabout seem odd to me. Just wrong.

Aeon Fluxx will suck
Trust me on this. there is NO WAY a live action can capture the surreal sombreness of hte animated series.

Re: Aeon Fluxx will suck
You're quite right. I could see it working if certain things were done, but they aren't. Its a Hollywood movie, so it will not be what it could be.

I'd quite like to see Lost Girls now.
Just because I _love_ Lost Boys!

I'm not convinced it will suck.
I'll make up my mind after I've seen it.
Or at least after I've seen a trailer.

Re: well
I apologise for my extremem reacton.

you are right I should at least wait untill the casting have been made.

I just tend to get reactionary when it's messing with classics like Lost boys, which holds a dear place in my heart :D

I shouldnt' have been so shouty...

Re: well
's ok

I love Lost Boys too, but what I've read from the site of this movie, it has NOTHING to do with LB at all. It's just some strange B-movie horror thing.
And I happen to really like those, so atm, I'm enthoused. When the trailer comes out that might change mind you.

Re: well
I'm not sure 'Lost girls' has or is supposed to have anything to do with lost Boys. It just felt like it could do. Although it has a lot more than just vampires in it.

Bit unfair to lump the League of Gentlemen movie in there - it is the same team making it, after all.

The Pink Panther being remade is the biggest heresy in there, in my eyes.
