1) What is the worst book you have ever read?
I really couldn’t say. I tend to forget bad and mediocre books very quickly. I read quite a lot so only the really good ones tend to stick around in my memory. Clan Novel: Toreador was pretty bad though as were some of the Dune follow-ups – although Dune itself is one of my favourite books ever!
2. Who is your hero?
I don’t have heroes. There are people I admire but I wouldn’t call them heroes. I think it’s bad to adore or idolise someone or something so much. Heroes are only useful if you are fighting for a cause or want to use them to centre attention away from something else. I’ve never been much of a follower so never felt the need for a hero, sorry.
3. What is the most romantic thing you have ever done?
I don’t believe I’m a romantic person. I’ve been told differently by several girlfriends and friends but I feel meals, flowers, weekends away, surprises, etc are things that should be part of any relationship. I don’t consider them romantic – just good and fun to do. I enjoy making/seeing people happy and if I have the cash I enjoy treating my friends or partners to something. Does that make me romantic? I don’t think so but romanticism differs from person to person.
4. What is your favourite word?
When the person means it I like ‘Iloveyou’ – although preferably said slowly with possibly a slight gap between each syllable – otherwise they might be drunk and I’m not so keen on hearing that then – especially if they’re a bloke!
5. Are you a cat or a dog person?
Definitely a cat person. I have lived with cats for more years than I have not and I have never lived with a dog (of the canine variety anyway). I do love cats although wouldn’t consider getting one of my own at present until my life stabilised. Cats often don’t like change and moving around every year or two wouldn’t be good for them.
