2004 Sex Survey Results

Durex have released their 2004 Sex Survey Results. I found it quite interesting  reading, but then again I've always been intrigued on others sexual habits and what is the 'norm' in society, etc.

A couple fo things did jump out at me though. The main one was the lack of orgasms whilst having sex. Apparently only 45% of men have an orgasm every time they have sex and the figure drops down to 17% for women??? 17% sounds very low but I can understand to a certain extent because it (usually) takes more time for a woman to reach that point but 45% of men also sounds very low.

The one question the survey failed to ask which I would have been interested in seeing the results of was the length of time sex lasted. It has results for length of time for foreplay but none for the actual act. Shame.

Thats _every_ single time, which I think would be very unlikely.

Yes. It's true. Men are lucky bastards - while many of us women never have orgasms at all... :(

Very true indeed. Either never or it takes a SERIOUS amount of effort!

And if you never do, ever, society and cosmopolitan magazine make you feel like a total freak... no fair.

I agree! These damned 'womens' magazines have made the big O the be all and end all of sex and if you don't have one, that sex - and you - are a total failure.

so true! and there's no recognition of the fact that sex can be damned good without the big o! they see it all in black and white - if you get turned on at all, it results in an orgasm, and if you don't have an orgasm then you didn't get turned on or enjoy the sex. it's all such rubbish. and i reckon more women would have orgasms if there wasn't this pressure to *try* and have one!

I guess isnt all its cracked up to be...:)

I would suggest we all do our part to have more sex, just to make their figures more accurate - whether you have an Orgasm or not - just fuck!

This probably goes into the category of "too much information" but what the heck.

I don't think 17% for women is that low, sad to say. This may have something to do with that for a large number of women, the *ahem* activities that would lead to orgasm aren't specifically intercourse. Other *ahem* consideration is often required for that to happen.

And a lot of men are too damn lazy to make sure that the lady gets her dessert too, so to speak.

I wish I wasn't speaking from experience but from folklore, but sadly, I am.

As for time of the actual act, that seems to vary a lot between blokes and often depends on whether or not they are using a condom. (To some men it doesn't make a difference but I have known at one in particular who lasts about 3 minutes without one and never reaches orgasm with!)
