Out of interest
Why did people rate Lost in Translation so much?

Its not that I'm not cultured with regards to films its just that the Oscars is mearly a four hour long advert for Holli-cash, sorry Wood. I have been firmly of this opinion since the herecy that was A Beautiful mind won Best Film last year (?)

I don't bother watching the actual ceremony but I always check the results. Beutiful Mind was a few years ago now I think.

Great,
last list I'd not seen any so didn't vote,
this list I vote for the two I have seen
(plus the Incredibles which fate had decided I would not see but I know is good anyway!)

So Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine do it for me.

But which will you vote for?
It's a tough decision. Was for me as (obviously) all five where my own top films of 2004. The two you mentioned really fought it out for the number one spot in my Top Ten of last year. Hard choices...

I wouldn't like to vote as I haven't seen The Incredibles (I've heard it's great though) or Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow- didn't fancy that, which is shocking considering I like a bit of Jude and Angelina.

But of the ones I have seen Eternal Sunshine, I guess, if I had to choose.

Yeah Lost in translation didn't affect me really to be honest, it was ok but I couldn't relate to it, maybe I should watch it again.

I have Lost In Translation, Eternal Sunshine and Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow on DVD if you ever fancy borrowing them* or walking round a couple of corners for a nights movie-watching! I'll be picking up both The Incredibles and Finding Neverland once they're released too.

(*-on the condition that I get them back sooner than 2-3 years young lady!!!.....:D)

I'm planning on watching both lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine again. I saw 'Lost' twice (once at the cinema and once on the plane back from the States) but have still only seen 'Eternal' once and this needs remedying.

Voted for The Incredibles, though it was a close call with Lost in Translation and Sky Captain.

I will shortly have all three on DVD.

I'd put Incredibles just a hair above Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind.

Saw the incredibles and lost in Translation - must see the rest on your list. Personally Lost in Trans struck me a wittier and more thought provoking...
