Female Robots.....

Well I can be all smug and 'ahead of the game' right now as I was talking about this a month or so back. The BBC have only just now picked the story up!!! Goodness....

Anyway, some of my more regular readers might vaguely remember me talking about a female humanopid robot that the Japanese have created called Repliee Q1. I spent ages surfing trying to find a picture of her without any joy. Anyway, the BBC have one alongside the new article so here she is.....

Yeah, this was on Werewolf.com a month ago. We figured there was potential for an army of creepy asian robot women.
Anyone else think the bloke in the background looks also like a robot that's been switched off?

Wow! Are you certain it's not a hoax story and they've convinced some actress to pretend to be a robot?

Positive. I found a load of info about the 'bot on a Japanese Robotics site (both in development terms and it's showcase back in May at an Expo over there). I also read an article in London's Metro about it sometime ago which used pretty much the same photo. The other photo they use on the BBC site looks slightly more artifical though.

Androids that have (incredibly limited) movement is not a problem.

Robots that have (incredibly limited) intelligence is not a problem.

I won't even consider being vaguely worried until they can combine the two.
