Whilst on the subject of my LJ's front page I thought I'd ressurect an old meme type affair that circulated quite a while back regarding 'Interests'.
I currently have 150 interests listed (it's no wonder I don't seem to have any spare time!). Ask me about any of them and I'll tell you either what it is or why I am interested in it, or when I became interested in it.

I remember how interesting it was to me to have a sci-fi novel set where I lived (at the time). :) Not sure about Jeff Noon's other stuff though.
