Yay! What a good Sunday!

Wow, what a nice Sunday.

Started off in a bit of a rush though. Damn this British Summertime lark - lost an entire hour and my sleeping pattern was already out of kink without having to worry that 9am has now become 10am, etc. Anyway, woke up at midday (thanks to a Andy phoning me about the cinema) and promptly had a mad dash to get ready and to the pub next to the cinema for 1pm. No breakfast. Not good :-(

Anyway, Andy (Palmer from Leisure Games), purplekaz  and daver2323 all joined me to see the brilliant Dawn of the Dead. The film was much better than I expected it to be (and I was expecting to enjoy it!) and has certainly got me ready for Shaun of the Dead which we're planning on seeing next Sunday (come along if you're interested and in North London or want to make the trip to Finchley!).

Afterwards we headed to The Tally Ho for drinks and food and were also met by pond823 who unfortunately couldn't come to the film because he was looking after his daughter this weekend. Andy left at this point (lightweight - just wait til I see him at work tomorrow.....) and after another round we headed down to Finchley Central to be closer to all of our homes.

We ended up at The Dignity and promptly settled in for the rest of the evening. Chatting, drinking, drinking, chatting. It was good. It was good to be out with both of my flatmates for a change - they are often heading out drinking together but recently I've either been busy, tired or out of the country so haven't been able to join them. It was also good seeing Karen and now she's moved into Finchley Central hopefully Her Purpleness will be joining us more often.

The Dignity played host to their bi-weekly covers band (can't remember there name) which are always pretty good for a pub covers band. At least they seem to be able to sing pretty well, play guitar and actually have a decent array of songs in their inventory.

Sasha and Dave bailed early (about ten minutes from closing time - why not stay those extra minutes and last two songs I ask you?) but that turned out to be an advantage. After walking Karen back home (her new place is en route to mine so I wasn't exactly being chivalrous, sorry) I had a nice stir fry sizzling away and waiting for me as I got home courtesy of the Sash-man himself. Thanks Sasha - you are The Dude(tm).

Anyway, that was my Sunday. It has been most enjoyable and has set me up for the week ahead. I even had a flurry of texts from young Bug yesterday evening so I'm not feeling so forgotten either ;-p

Right, off to bed with the lovely Evian for company. I need to dilute the alcohol in my system.

Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone out there in LJland! xxx

I had a great time. Sunday was looking all doom and gloom before I got the phone call from you. Pleased you enjoyed the food, I was impressed that I managed to cook considering how much cider & vodka I drunk.

I hope you got my text message as well - DST caught me off-guard! I'm not sure I will be able to join you next Sunday, but I'll try. Shaun seems more interesting than Dawn... :)

Re: Sunday!
Hello there!

Yep, I received your text. Sorry you couldn;t make it - the film was actually very good. The change to British Summer Time on Sunday threw a few people out actually. I know at least two others who forgot the clocks had changed until it was too late to come. I don't think anyone turned up at the pub an hour late though (we were already in the cinema by then ;-p).

Hope you'll be able to make Shaun of the Dead. It'll be good to see you again.

Keep well and get studying girl!!! ;-p
