Static-X : Machine

Never listened to Static-X before but found their 'Machine' CD in a sale for a fiver and it ended up coming home with me. Now listening to it for the first time.

First observation is that the boys have obviously been listening to WAY too much Ministry in their formulative years. Not a bad thing either as they sound a lot better than Ministry have done in their own last few attempts.

Second observation is that I'm possibly a bit too old and fragile to listen to really loud thumping drum and guitar music whilst suffering from a headache. I think I may put on some Kate Bush or Depeche Mode for a little while and keep the rest of this gem until I'm feeling a bit better.....:p

static -x
are a bit too EXTREME for me, it's like they listened to early metallica and wanted to 'industrialise' it up some more. Some of their earlier albums are more accessible... thier indivudual layers of sound are pretty interesting, but the layers when put together don't necessarily make a tasty aural sandwich.

Hows youre cold / email issues darling?

Re: static -x
Email still shite. Should really spend some time tonight trying to sort it out (hmm... after I've cooked the sunday roast maybe...)

Cold is still lingering, but not as bad as last week. Hopefully I'll be back in action again this week (Fingers crossed as I have two other gigs before VNV next Sunday - which I have to sort out times with you!)
