(Film Review) Chronicles of Narnia

Well, finally saw it in a cinema not full of screaming school-children. Which was a big bonus!

So, my thoughts on the first of the narnia films..... Some people will hate me for saying this but I thought it was a resounding....OK.

Don't get me wrong, parts of the film were amazing but for me it was both lacking something and had some incredibly cringe-worthy moments. I guess I shouldn't really have expected too much from either a PG film or from CS Lewis. This is a childrens tale afterall and if you like dthe books as a kid, or are a kid, you will no doubt adore the film.

Most of the creatures in it are superbly done, the battle scenes were good, the four kids acting left alot to be desired apart from ten-year old Georgie Henley who played Lucy Pevensie (the youngest of the kids - I think her character is supposed to be about 7 or 8?) who was actually pretty good for her age. Tilda Swinton (who played Gabriel in Constantine and was also Sal in The Beach) was a very good White Witch James McAvoy made a good Mr Tumnus (although he did come across a bit peadophilic at times...).

School Report: C+/B- (Good visuals but let down on occasion through both acting and the original story)
