Just a few trailers...

Alpha Dog (I actually checked this out on the strength that Bruce Willis is in it and there was also a rther sexy picture of Justin Timerblake on one of the sites I read about it as Justin's also in the fim. Don't let that deter you though as it looks like it should be quite a good thriller/drama)

Nacho Libre (Wasn't so sure of this one as it's the new film from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess, and I wasn't a fan of ND to put it kindly. Saying that though it is starring Jack Black and was written by the same person behind School of Rock. These persuaded me to give the trailer ago. Still not convinced but one I'd certainly like to see a bit more of before I decide one way or another...)

Marie Antoinette (Sofia Coppola's new film. Now I loved both The Virgin Suidcides and Lost In Translation a lot so any film that Sofia brings out will get my attention. In this period drama Kirsten Dunst plays Marie Antoinette. The film looks visually very good - especially the brief clip of the ship battle - so I guess it'll be a safe bet for Autumn)

Silent Hill (I may very well have mentioned this one before, but I'll do it again. Silent Hill looks fantastic. Could this be the first time a film based upon a video really REALLY works well on the big screen? With Christophe Gans Directing - he of Brotehrhood of the Wolf Fame - and a good cast - including Sean Bean - and absolutely fantastic special effects I really can't wait to see this....)

Slither (On a slightly less serious horror note we have Slither... It looks very much in the same vein as films such as The Blob and Eight Legged Frekas - just a bit more adult orientated in places - but added to that it also stars Nathan Fillion of Firefly/Serenity fame)

Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro continues his love affair with fantasy-horror (Hellboy, Blasde II, The Devil's Backbone, etc) with this outting. Only the Teasers are out for it so far but, and I see to be saying this a fair bit at the moment, it looks very nice...)

Superman Returns (...but did he really ever go away....It'll be interesting to see what Bryan Singer does with the Man of Steel)

X-Men 3: The Last Stand (With a new Director (Bryan Singer left to do the Superman film) it'll be interesting to see if the X-Men momento keeps up. The film does look like it should be good though with the all-star cast returning once again and also joined by new team-mates Angel and The Beast!)

Day Watch (The sequel to Night Watch was released in Russia at the beginning of this year. Hopefully it'll be out over here before the beginning of next...)

The Proposition (Written by no other than Nick Cave, this gritty film stars the very talented Guy Pearce and an equally talented cast including Ray Winstone, Liam Neeson, John Hurt and Emily Watson)

You should have a look at the trailer for Stay Alive, I think that one looks very promising as well :)

It's got a bit of a 'Ring' element to it hasn't it. Nice visuals. I think it'll be one for DVD for me though as I generally avoid seeing 'jumpy' horror films at the cinema for some reason ;p

Well, Silent Hill isn't directed by Uwe Boll, so it should be good and the trailer looks fantastic.

You are just SO slow (on some of these).

Alpha Dog- Came outta Sundance with a great rep.
John Casavetes man... love it or hate it!

Nacho Libre- Interesting. HAven't heard of this one...

Marie Antoinette- I freaked over the punk trailer last year.

Silent Hill- looks juicy!

X-Men 3: The Last Stand
OK- been watching the growing horror towards this one.
I have been linking to a few movie news sites who are highlighting BAD advertising campaign (X-3 is ripping of @Rent' for their image) bad costumes (the cool look is gone) and basically many fans of X1 and X2 are worried X3 will do a 'Batman & Robin' and kill the Franchise!

Day Watch- Hubbahubba!

Some coolio movies coming up dude!

**Dude- You are just SO slow (on some of these).**

Slow on posting my thoughts and links in any case. I'd heard of (and in some cases seen the trailers to) a number of the films ages ago but only got round to summing up a post with some links in it. This is largely due to me writing a massive post at the beginning of the New Years with links galore only to have the computer/LJ eat it and left me with a wasted few hours (I was not the most happy...). :p

Saying that I didn't hear about Marie Antoinette until this morning.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with X3. I'll certainly be heading down to see it as soon as it comes out but Bryan Singer is a hard act to follow and I'm not sure if Brett Ratner (Rush Hour 1 & 2; Red Dragon) is the man who can fill his shoes. Also the first two films were amazing which piles added pressure on the third. X3 could be a good film, but if it's only a good film this will disappoint people due to the greatness of the previous installments.

I'm really looking forward to Silent Hill as well. Very pleased that Pyramid Head is making an apperance. I just hope that they manage to keep the psychological horror elemant in the fore rather than turn it into a Resident Evil action movie.

I ripped out some creature stills from the movie and matched them up with their game counterparts.....link to edit
