Town Names....

It took me until the end of the article to realise what the town was called.....

Kurd Unrest Escalates in Turkey (BBC News Online; Thursday 30th March 2006)

.....why I didn't spot that on it's first mention I'll have no idea!

Anyone know of any other towns that share their names with superheroes?

Excellent! Hmm... can't think of any other super hero names off the top of my head, though.

My brother-in-law comes a from a village on the outskirts of Batman. Diyarbakir is really quite nice. It has a lovely city wall and battlements, started by the romans. Second longest wall in the world after the great wall, apparantly.

Actually quite a few of the 'turkish' shops and cafe's in north London are run by folk from Diyarbakir, espically down green lanes. You'll know when your in one as it will have photo's of watermelons on the wall. It's there big thing, they think they are the watermelon capital of the world. They have a gaint watermelon festival in september, and your not a man unless you've grown a 100lb watermelon!!!

There's a town in California called Tarzana and is actually named after Tarzan. Apparently ER Burroughs lived there and they changed the name of the town in his honour.

Don't know any superhero-named towns, but there are villages/towns called Gotham in Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, East Sussex and Nottinghamshire.
