(News) Billie Piper To Leave Doctor Who

Well just becaus eit's not political, scientific or whatever it is still news you know! It'll probably interest more of you than some of my political/environmental/social posts anyway ;p

It's been announced this morning that Billie Piper is to leave Doctor Who at the end of this current series (Season 2). Nothing has been said about her exit and the BBC are keeping tight lipped about her departure in an episode called 'Doomsday'.

Another interesting thing to come out of the article is that she is currently filming a BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's (he of "His Dark Materials" fame) Victorian thriller "Ruby in the Smoke"

Billie Piper To Leave Doctor Who (BBC News Online; Thursday 15th June 2006)

So, who do we reckon will replace her as the Doctor's new assistance?

Continuing the run of c-list singers resurrecting their careers on the show maybe Peter Andre? The Cheeky Girls? Lisa (from Steps)? or maybe even Emma Bunton (Baby Spice)! Actually what about Geri Halliwell?

ok how about Rachel Stevens or Holly Valance!

but i think that natalie whatshername "donna" from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps should get it.

Dr Who: Well Susie (we'll call her susie) i think we about to get meet our end by these nasty blurg creatures of psylof 4.

Susie(in a northern accent): No we're chuffing not! I'll kick em in the crotch and give em a right good kicking before i share my pork scratchings with anyone!

Nah, he's bi, which is a very different proposition, especially to the Liberal Democrats.

"Nothing has been said about her exit"

Apart from the devil in 'The Satan Pit' referring to her dying in battle.

I have *deperately* wanted to be Dr Who's assistant for at least 25 years...

Somehow I don't think I will be getting a call from the BBC though.

Ruby in the smoke sounds very interesting indeed.

As to new companion, I'd love the Doctor to pick up the girl from 'The Empty Child/Doctor Dances. she'd be fab.
