Old Goth Flyers...

nemesis_to_go was foolish enough to have started a trip down memory lane and uploaded a flyer from one of the early gigs he used to promote in London. He reckons it was the fourth one he did. I reckon he's either missing a few or it wasn't '96 but '95 that the gig was on. Alternatively it might have just been all the snakebite and black that was consumed back then that has meant the distorting of reality...?

Anyway, why do I challenge the man?

Well, for starters I have three flyers that all predate the summer of '96! Check out the below :)

Oh, the good times..... :D

Oo I had that Children on Stun flyer. I got it coming out of the Ballroom one night. That would have been 1995 if memory serves cause I think it was the night I ended up flirting outrageously with this girl I later ended up going out with for about 2 years.
Ahh memories.

I missed this bit of the UK scene (though dj_steve_rbn has filled me in on the essentials). I do have CDs by Suspiria and The Horatii though (acquired for £1/£2 from Music and Video Exchange).

You're right - when I said the Marionettes gig was in '96 I was in a state of rock 'n' roll confusion. It was actually 1995. I've corrected the balls-up in my journal now. Thanks for jogging my memory back onto the right track!

It was all a very long time ago, and I never kept any kind of records. I thought I was only going to do two or three gigs - I never thought I'd end up doing it for 7 years. If I had known that, I would've been a bit more organised...

Those flyers above are a real blast from the past. Great gigs - and so cheap, too!

(Wanders off, muttering "By 'eck, in them days you could see a gig, get a bag o' chips afterwards, and still have change from half a crown....")

Good lord! I'd nearly forgotten Nem did some gigs at the Borderline... It's all coming back now... I vaguely remember playing with the lights doing the lighting at one of the Borderline gigs. Was that really 10 years ago?

That Children On Stun gig was the first Nemesis gig I ever went to. Was it really 11 years ago? I went to the London After Midnight/Horatii gig too - though it was The Horatii I was particularly impressed by. They seemed to have far more members than they ever did when I saw them play later. And didn't London After Midnight suffer some technical difficulties that night?
