Faithless New Video - Banned by MTV

Faithless have a new CD coming out and the enw single from it is 'Bombs' which MTV (atleast in the States - I don't know about Europe) have banned the video of.

Not having the same censorship levels as MTV I now present to you Faithless and 'Bombs'

The video alone is an interesting political statement. No surprise it's banned in the US. Kudos to them though.

Some great use of old stock footage in that. I found the intro quite amateurish but the quality most certainly picks up.

I can understand why MTV banned it as it totally screws all the American propaganda footage that they force feed their people daily.

Did they ban it because it shows an American soldier getting shot?
Apparently it's fine to show loads of nastiness and children getting squakked as long as no soldiers are shown being shot which can bugger up morale.

Thankyou for linking to that mate, I think stuff like this needs to be seen.

Shame about the rap part of the song, it just doesn't fit with the rest of the song (which I thought was actually quite good).

I don't get how anyone in the media business thinks they can ban anything now. Something like 1 in 4 people on the 'net use peer-to-peer software (Napster, Kazza, LimeWire, etc) and it takes about 10 mins to put something up on YouTube.

The days of easy censorship are rapidly coming to an end...

"They" seem to be censoring in China perfectly well enough - the net, in particular.

The only time I've *ever* seen what I would term as "uncensored" news is when I watched live satellite feeds going from a reporter in the middle east through to servers in the US. The next day I saw the edited version of that footage on CNN and it was completely "wrong" - the reporter's voice-over had been chopped and remixed, as had the footage. Told a completely different story, so clever was the editing.
