RIP: Alan "Fluff" Freeman 1927 - 2006

DJ Alan 'Fluff' Freeman died today. I remember a lot of his shows during the 80's and his voice was instantly recognisable. Possibly the most recognisable voice on radio next to John Peel.

I was sad to see he died in a nursing home where he'd been resident since 2000. I guess it's better to burn out than fade away. I certainly hope I vanish from this planet long before I end up in a nursing home in any case!
