(Trailer) Blood & Chocolate

Thanks to siroswold for giving me the heads up on 'Blood and Chocolate' - a new Werewolf film from the producers of Underworld:

Despite LOVING werewolf films, there are a few things wrong with this one.

1) instantly reminded me of Werewolf in Paris (shudder)
2) the storyline seems familiar
3) with the exception of using REAL wolves, there's a wooded scene that looks like it came straight out of Angela Carter's Company of Wolves film
4) THEY USED THE GOTHLA FONT! FUCKERS! THEY MUST DIE.

The film is based upon a book - but from reading some comments on a movie forum it sounds like the book 'plot' has morphed somewhat during transition to the silver screen.

Hmmm
I think this might be a wait to rent on DVD special.
Looks about as scary as watching paint dry.
We'll see though :D

I don't think the film-makers are intedning it to be scarey. Underworld was certainly an action film over any kind of horror and I would hazzard a guess this will be much of the same (with maybe the 'love' element played up a bit further...)

Hahahahahahahaaaa! Utter Pants!!!

God, can the 'horror' genre not offer us anything new? Like, something other than vampire films, or werewolf films. Or werewolf/vampire films?!

and let's not forget all the 'Ringu' ripoffs....
sigh....

'Bloody and Chocolate' - When Wonka went bad.....

I'd be hesitant to call this horror - the same as I wouldn't Underworld or Van Helsing horror films.

They are mass market action movies (at best) using some well known horror archetypes.

I would rarely call any of the major 'horror' releases that come out of the States actual horror films. Certainly not the teen flicks like 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', the later Freddie films or the Scream series.

That's much of the problem really since the modern horror film barely exists anymore. It's been heavily dilluted by this sort of dross.
I do know what you mean though. Perhaps this is some sort of subgenre that was spawned by Buffy, and films like the craft.
My problem is that this has been done to *death* and yet money is still thrown into these projects which I find quite sad. Especially when there's such great ideas out there.

ah well, this film will probably make a ton of money off the emo generation :-(

Yep. It's based upon a book by the same title.

I just finished the trailer, and it looks dire. And not in a good way.
