They've Turned Trafalgar Square Green!

This looks really, really nice. For two days they have laid grass in Trafalgar Square to promote green spaces in London.

The picture makes the area look fantastic. I would love to be able to get down and see this but, alas, don't think I'll have any time to go into London before maybe Sunday/Monday by which point the grass will have been relocated to Hammersmith and Fulham.

I agree. As long as it is KEPT like that all the time. With the amount of people who walk through Trafalgar Square I think it would be an impossible task though :(

Especially considering the night buses.

Yes, indeed, it would be rubbish if they had to put 'keep off the grass' signs up everywhere, but that's the only way they could keep it nice!

*nods* That's why I like one of the towns near me, it has a great big park running all the way through the middle of it stretching all the way to the beach :)

That's wonderful. Wanna be in London now, I mean, only briefly, but still.

Of course the real story is that it's benig relocated to Fulham voluntarily*

* I'm not implying anything about the residents of fulham, or its football club, oh noooo..........

Wow! It's gorgeous! It's certainly completely different than when I saw it--grey rain, grey sky, grey buildings, grey pavement and grey pigeons.

Not wanting to blow my own civic trumpet, but that reminds me oddly of some parts of Sheffield now - the Peace Gardens in particular:
Peace Gardens

Think it's the grass and water features - we've a lot of both of those round here now
