Doctor Who - All Change Please

It seems that the bosses at BBC are going to be making some changes to Doctor Who.

Newspaper reports today seem to idnicate that Freema Agyeman is going to be axed at the end of tthe current season. Insiders claim that whilst her initial performances were viewed as strong and came in for a lot of praise she has faltered over the course of the season and the Beeb now feel a replacement should be brought in.

Also it seems we may be about to see the eleventh Doctor during Season 4. Apparently David Tennant has signed up for half of Season 4.

where did you see that? Gallifrey one whoch tends to be on the ball with the facts have nothing. Plus Freema was on Johnathon Ross last night talking about when she would start filming season 4.

The only thing that needs to change in Doctor Who is it staying on the same bloody transmission time.

Taking everything with a pinch of salt until it actually transpires... I think Freema's been great so far, and we're nearer the end of the season than the start. Still, will be taking this on board if she fucks up the finale, which looks like a corker.

Meanwhile, remember how Eddie Izzard always brushed off being connected to the role because he said he didn't want to commit to a long series? And now he's got a hit series in the US. Pfft.

Tennant's been allegedly leaving ever since he signed on. From what I've heard he's signed on for series 4 and then been jokingly uppity when people ask him about leaving (A boy could get a complex-type things).

Newspaper reports, eh? The same newspapers that have been making stories up about this show for decades now...

Since the British press have this game that they play with Doctor Who where they make up the most ridiculous stories which everyone gets het up about until the BBC comes out and rubbishes them, I no longer believe anything the press says unless it's backed up with an official BBC press statement.

That being said, if David Tennant were to want to move on after the next series, I wouldn't be particularly surprised. Three years is the average for a Doctor but as I say, I'll believe it when the BBC says it.

Oh, I see, it's an article in The Sun. Why does anyone ever believe anything they say, especially where Doctor Who is concerned?

Good Riddance to Freema

i'm sorry, she's a decent actress i suppose. but the character is just too crap!

female doctor...obviously a strong individual intelligent and independant.

but no...2nd episode she turns into this screaming airhead who's in love with the doctor!

my god i hate to say it but i miss billie!!

we want the female equivalent of the doctor. someone to challenge him and keep him on his toes....not some lap dog schoolgirl with a crush.

Hasn't The Sun done this sort of thing before?

Anyway... Official statement from the BBC:
“It is absolute rubbish that Freema Agyeman has been axed or sacked from Doctor Who. However we do not comment on future storylines.”

I seriously hope not -- well, the Agyeman bit. I'm enjoying her work very much.

Now, a new Doctor I could live with . . .

I've got nothing to back his up, just my own feelings where this is going.

A few episodes ago, the Doctor was told "You are notalone", so there is another time lord out there, and that should mean the return of the Master for the finale. The doctor himself is running out of generations which gives the writers an interesting problem. The cuirrent Doctor is gaining more and more of a reputation as an actor and will face a decision at some point. I do tihnk he will do the next series but I can't see him going beyond that which means some kind of plot device is going to be needed for him to get a few more generations or else the series has to end.

The Master is known for stealing generaions and so this would seem to presrnt an opportunity for an impressive story line, where maybe the Doctor foils the Master's plans for new generations and in doing so acquires a few himself.

As I say, Ive got nothing to base this on, but to me it sounds reasonable.
