I loved Mechanical Animals (and it has some of my all time favourite songs on) but it was let down with some really silly commercial songs like Dope Show. Whilst 'Eat Me, Drink Me' doesn't get to the heights of individual songs such as Coma White form Mechanical Animals it also doesn't have any of the silly "in there for the dancefloor singles" that MA had.
This really isn't a club friendly album and whilst you could probably get away with spinning one or two of them for the crowd (like "You And Me And The Devil Makes 3") most are a lot more laid back. There are plenty of opportunities to make some blinding remixes though - oh if only I had the equipment and the talent!
Anyway, yes, I like the new MM CD. No real surprise I guess and after hearing 'Heart-Shaped Glasses' I was already feeling like this could be a return to form.
Right, back to work for me :)
