Marilyn Manson - Eat Me, Drink Me

"Eat Me, Drink Me" is the best Marilyn Manson (imho) since Mechanical Animals.

I loved Mechanical Animals (and it has some of my all time favourite songs on) but it was let down with some really silly commercial songs like Dope Show. Whilst 'Eat Me, Drink Me' doesn't get to the heights of individual songs such as Coma White form Mechanical Animals it also doesn't have any of the silly "in there for the dancefloor singles" that MA had.

This really isn't a club friendly album and whilst you could probably get away with spinning one or two of them for the crowd (like "You And Me And The Devil Makes 3") most are a lot more laid back. There are plenty of opportunities to make some blinding remixes though - oh if only I had the equipment and the talent!

Anyway, yes, I like the new MM CD. No real surprise I guess and after hearing 'Heart-Shaped Glasses' I was already feeling like this could be a return to form.

Right, back to work for me :)

But "Heart-Shaped Glasses" is awful

I am firmly of the opinion that the only time MM does good songs are when he does covers. Those are always awesome.

Oh, and Fight Song.

I may check it out, but I dunno, I don't consider footstomper dance floor tracks to be wasted space.

They're not a waste of space at all. Not when they're good anyway, and MM can throw out some good ones. I'm just annoyed that most of the singles he's released in the past haven't been anywhere near his best material (mobscene for instance).

Give me Beautiful People or it's ilk any day!

I've heard a bit of the new album on Kerrang the last few days and I quite like it. Shall be aquiring it soon :D
