Doctor Who Season 4

So, The Doctor returns this Saturday to British TV screens at an early time of 6.20 and unsurprisingly I can't wait.

Actually, it is slightly surprisingly because when I heard that Freema Agyeman was leaving the show and the new companion was going to be Catherine Tate I was more than slightly worried. Having seen Tate in the 'Runaway Bride' Christmas Episode episode I was very worried what she'd bring to Season 4.

Well, now that I've seen more footage of Season 4 and Tate's character I have reversed my opinion and am actually looking forward to the new adventures. Plus it's not like we've seen the last of Freema's "Martha" character in various Who programmes.

The trailers and teasers I've seen for Season 4 look great and I've not looked forward to an appointment with a Doctor this much in ages :p

Roll on Saturday...

I know what you mean. I don't particularly like Catherine Tate, but then I didn't like Freema or Rose to start with either. Maybe because they aren't me... anyway, for some strange reason my interest in dr. who has been quite high of late so I'm giddy as a school boy (as the austrian woman says).

Isn't Martha to reappear in season 4 as well as Rose and Jack?

Of course, between this season and the work on the RPG, you'll probably be sick to death of DW by summer! ;) Surprisingly, we're getting the new season here in the US starting April 18th (starting with "Voyage of the Damned"). I suspect TPTB know that if they don't give it to us as soon as possible, we'll "find ways". Which we'll still do anyway, but in my house we still watch it (again and again and again) and Torchwood on Sci-Fi and BBC America and DVD, so I don't feel too guilty.

Here's to the Season of Donna, Martha, Rose, Jack and the Kitchen Sink!

I'm not optimistic, mainly because Catherine Tate makes me start chewing the inside of my mouth and clawing my eyes out before my ears start bleeding and I have to be left in a darkened room to recover from the trauma - a trauma that only Captain Jack can save me from.

It's such a shame that they lump David Tennant with her as he's such a good Doctor.

So this season I'll probably end up only watching the episodes with Jack in them due to having a stupid schoolgirl crush and the episodes by Stephen Moffat because he might be able to make the damn woman slightly less nervous breakdown inducing.

My thoughts in the middle of the 'Tate hate' that followed the announcement, was lets give the woman a chance.

As far as I can tell, every time the fans rage about how awful something might be, they get proved wrong every time. Battlestar Galactica being a prime example.

Mind you, I am bias. I rather like Catherine Tate, and I'm still not convinced Dr Who can do anything wrong! :-)

Here's hoping we see Romana in season 4! :-)

I'd argue that was the other way around.
I thought fan reception to the news it was coming back was ok.
Turned out when it actually appeared it was awful.

Mind you, while the wedding episode was possibly the most awful episode of science fiction (since the final episode of Enterprise) it was still better than Andromeda.
