Surprising nobody. Great choice as you say; though I am a bit worried that his writing might get a bit formulaic, based on the trailer for next week's Who & Confidential, which make them look like a thematic rerun of Blink.

Just read the long version on hearttardis. My main reaction was to wonder who will be playing the Doctor by then. I think we can be reasonably confident that Tennant will step down next year (if, indeed, the hints in the current series don't mean he's going sooner - which they probably don't).

I can't help but wonder if this will enable Moffat to shine or drag him down. He can ONLY be better than RTD though-who was a bit rubbish actually. This current season has been incredibly poor and lacklustre so far.
