Cam Update

Decided not to go for the job.

Sorry to all those who were trying to persuade me or sent me emails/phone calls in support or spent time talking over ideas with me.

I'd have loved to do it but at the end of the day have a lot of other things on my plate and sadly don't believe I have the enthusiasm or desire the amount of effort needed to give the chronicle a good send-off and help create something fresh and new. Especially when I'm in two-minds about the new campaign system for live-action.

I'd hate to put in loads of effort in to the new campaign, at the expense of the other projects I'm working on or will be starting on, only to have it killed off by player apathy about the rules set and society structure. Hopefully I'll be proven worng in which case I'll no doubt spend many years having fun as a player. Which would be good.

In any case, I have other LARP games (possibly societies) to try and organise :-p

I'll tell more when things are a little clearer. I've been chatting about a few ideas with some people (will do with you if we can ever arrange a drink - I don't currently have your phone number!) in regards to short one-off games across a variety of different genres. If one of the genres becomes 'in demand' we could start playing with that more often.

I've also been chatting with another publishing company about the possibility of starting up a global larp network to support one of their games. Obviously this is of great interest to me (having done it before with WW and enjoyed it immensly) but we have to make sure it'll work in regards to a good solid structure and rules set. Again, happy to chat about it over drinks but don't want to put anything down in emails or LJ-posts atm until things are finalised (or at least get the green light for Stage 2).

I do (with mixed feelings) believe that a lot of Cammies probably won't stick around after the end of the current campaign for a variety of reasons. It'd be a shame if they don't but in any case I do think that other non-WoD Larps will spring up all over the place and possibly another international society or two supporting other games. We'll see. I've not exactly got my Nostradamus hat on today so I could be completely wrong :-p

I know. I mentioned that to Isi last night.

Do you have my phone numbers? If you don't phone me at work (020 8346 2327) and I'll give them to you. My home number hasn't changed as we kept the old number when we moved.
