Days Like These...

Been a good few days if I'm honest with myself. Very productive in many ways.

Continuum last week in Leicester was a fantastic weekend and I seem to have been in hyper-work-drive ever since. Admittedly part of that is due to necessity as I'm heading off to the States on Tuesday for a week for GenCon, but part of it has been because I've been in a very pro-work mood - which certainly helps things along.

I think part of it is because I have allowed myself a little bit of free time this week. It's not all been "work at shop during the day; work at home during the night". I caught up with Dom, Seth, Nicole, Andy P and Claire for a meal (nice Tapas resturant in Bloomsbury) to celebrate Dom's 30th. I saw X-Files 2: I Want To Believe on Thursday straight after work which I enjoyed. It was more of a thriller than anything else and was really just an extended episode but I'm glad I've seen it. You could certainly catch it on DVD/TV though and wouldn't lose anything from not seeing it on the big screen.

Friday was a great day, workwise. Closed a major deal in the morning, pitched a couple of ideas in the early evening that had a favourable response and could prove a very interesting ventrue, lined up a meeting for a seperate business idea I'd been working on for the last couple of years with a company who are already established in that particular market but feel joining forces could be very beneficial (nothing to do with Cubicle 7) and pretty much sorted out something else that's been "simmering" for probably about 4 or 5 years (if not longer) which we should now hopefully be launching in the new year if not just before Christmas. Also managed to catch up with Monty for a quick drink or two after work which was really nice.

This morning was a whirl of activity before heading out to watch The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor followed by a trip to nando's with James. The Mummy was good fun and certainly had some really great fight scenes and special effects. The downside was that I came out of it thinking of what Indiana Jones could have been if done right...

Now I need to get myself down to the shop where we demo'ing a couple of games before closing time and then off for a staff meal in Swiss Cottage. Take care everyone and hope you're all having a good weekend so far!
