Can I go on record and say that I am finding Supernatural an absolutely fantastic TV series.

I brought Seasons 1 thru 3 a few weeks ago and watched Season 1 last week and started on Season 2 this evening (currently have Episode 2 playing) and I'm loving it.

Why I hadn't seen this before, or heard how good it was, I'll never know.

It's got some very good critters, acting, special effects and plotlines.

I'm hooked.

Yes! I totally agree with you.

I've also only recently discovered it. It's quality stuff.

I noticed you mentioned the show on your LJ a week or so back.

I'd heard good things about it from friends, but never got round to trying it. Then I saw the boxed sets at a very reasonable price (even more so via Zavvi). So first I bought the first season, then halfway through that I got the second season so I'd have it ready, and then barely into that I bought the third season so I could dive right into it . . . I've been mainlining it for the last few weeks. :)

It gets BETTER. Series 4 is great so far and series 3 is one of the very few that seemed to weather the writer's strike.

I was lucky enough to catch Supernatural when it first hit the screens and when it moved from ITV1 to ITV2 mid-season I had a bad feeling that it may turn out to be a one-series wonder. Thankfully, I was proved wrong. Repeatedly. And it has been simply getting better and better.

Took you long enough...
I'm really pleased that it's been holding up through the seasons, even the large plot twist at the start of Season 4 didn't take it in the wrong direction and it's still enjoyable (unlike Lost, at which I just keep shouting "Get on with it!").
Every season of Supernatural has a comedy episode that takes out the tension a bit, but in a good way.
I obviously also love the Classic Rock soundtrack, I half expect to find out the Impala's radio can only be tuned to Classic Rock stations, a bit like Christine's that would only play Oldies.

Keep with it as it steadily improves even though it did start out very good.

One of the best, most high quality shows on TV bar none. Also, they've got a new collection of supplementary books, taking place between specific episodes, worth a read. I've held off on watching Season 4 to instead wait for the DVD set release...

Sunday's episode was pretty good too.

It's one we have always wanted in rpg format, I guess the recent Demon Hunter might work for it.

Margaret Weis Productions, who publish The Serenity Rpg, are publishing the Supernatural Rpg later this year.

On a gaming note do you have any idea what is happening with MWP's Supernatural RPG is at? I have a feeling its becoming a bit vaporware like.

I actually spoke to Jamie about this within the last couple of days.

They are into the Final Approval process and will be fast tracking its print run as soon as they have the green light.

I'm guessing it'll be this summer - in time for convention season :)

That's good to know and obviously an issue with their licensed products. Shame they have such an issues producing a volume of work as a company.

I really enjoyed the first series, which seemed to take its inspiration from classic horror movies, but I found the second series got a bit more Buffy-like and I lost interest.

I'll admit to being surprised with the quality of the show too. Especially as it took me four seasons to really have it hit my radar. I'd heard the name but none of the buzz about the show.
When I picked up the dvds recently it was more of an impulse buy without any real reccomendation behind it. I'm very surprised that none of my friends had been raving about it before now. Or maybe they had and I'd just written it off as another sub-par Buffy/X-Files/Charmed teen series. I don't know.
Very pleased to have finally watched it though. I'm into the second half of Season 2 right now and have the Season 3 Box set waiting to be unwrapped when the time comes...
