Leisure Games Announcement

Hi guys,

Just posted this over on the leisuregames  blog along with this weeks New Releases so thought I'd copy it here too.

It briefly mentions what I'm leaving to go and do. More information will be available in a Press Release in April.

Hi all,

Below you'll find our latest New Releases list for the coming week.

I also wanted to drop a little note to you to let you know that I will be leaving Leisure Games at the end of this week after 23 years either part- or full-time here.

I've had a great time here over the years and wanted to thank all of you for supporting the shop. We exist because of you and that's something that none of us here ever take for granted.

It's with a lot of sadness that I'm leaving the shop but Mike, Sean, David and Kara (our new staff member) will keep the flags flying and will be at the end of the phone or email to ably assist you.

I'm leaving the company to go fulltime with my publishing company - Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Some of you will already have been aware that I've been involved in publishing for a while. Cubicle 7 has now got to a point where we need to dedicate more time to our commitments there and we have managed to acquire the financial support and investment we needed in order to make it a fulltime venture.

So many thanks again for all your support and I hope you carry on enjoying this fantastic hobby for many years to come.

Best wishes,

Angus Abranson

I've only meet you briefly over the last year (from Continuum) but you've been overwhelmingly positive about what I'm doing with d101 games, to the point you've got our first product (Hearts in Glorantha) in Leisure Games. This is a small but very significant step for me, and quite important for the morale of Gloranthan fandom as a whole.

All the best with going full time with Cubicle 7. If anyone deserves to succeed its you :D

Hopefully I'll bump into you on the con circuit next year, or later this year if I'm not locked down with new Newtlets.

I forget if I've already said this recently, but what the heck-- I'll say it again:

That's a long freaking time to be with a company. Best of luck to you in your full-time passion and have fun! Also: Stay awesome. Or else. :)

I am doubly excited - for you and such a cool new career and because its means I will be getting hold of more C7 publications in the future! Bonus!

Impressive. 23 years is a long time to spend at one company (even if it's a RPG store :))

Nice to hear that in the RPG climate of the last years, C7 is florishing better than ever. Keep it up!

Does this mean we will finally get to see some of the great games promised over the last 24 months?

Best of luck with this full-time risk venture. Its never easy running your own business and in the economic turmoil, even riskier.

Yes, it means we'll be working full time on game production so you should see all our lines getting a lot better support.
It'll take a few months to really get the ship up to steam (for instance the books we've sent to the printers and solicited to the distributors this month won't actually be out until around June/July) but we're aiming to bring out several books a year for each line.
