(Music Video) mind.in.a.box - Change

Two great things about todays video post.

Firstly there is the band - mind.in.a.box are, in my mind, one of the best futurepop bands around today. They've been going since 2001 but I only really started listening to them properly last year when I was in Belgrade (Serbia). Since then I've brought all their CDs and they are one of my most listened to bands in the last 12 months.

Secondly is the video. This is a fan made video to the song using clips from Immortel Ad Vitem (which is based upon a series of graphic novels by one of my favourite comic artists and writers - Enki Bilal) - a French film (although largely filmed in English with a bit of Egyptian). Watching the video really makes me want to dig out the dvd and watch it again actually.

To be honest the difference between the industrial/dance scenes has been very minimalistic for years now.
There is so much crossover that I think a lot of it currently just remians down to the crowds people feel comfortable with.
A lot of the 'alternative' crowd that hang out at places like Slimelight go there because that's there "community" or "tribe". People dress the same way as them and they don't get any hassle or some of the problems that can come about in regular clubs.
There is absolutely no reason why a lot of the EBM/Futurepop/Synthpop/Darkwave can't and shouldn't me a lot more mainstream. I'd love to see it's emergence.
We kind of got that a bit with Delerium a few years ago when 'Silence' topped the charts around the globe. Delerium having been an 'alternative' scene band for years before there success and of course basically being a side-project of the mighty Front Line Assembly.
